Nepal / Pohkara day 1 – What shoulda happened vs what really happened – it happens!

I’m not trying to be a lady and not say ‘shit’ – I don’t think one necessarily guarantees the other. It really was a case of ‘it’ happening rather than shit happening  although it seemed like a clear case of the latter at first because of the cancellation of my connecting flight to Pohkara from crazy Kathmandu. The shit-uation was resolved by the owner of the Blue Planet Lodge (where I am staying in Pokhara) arranging for a driver (sweet Gonis) to bring me by car. My initial culture shock in this chaotic urban-jungle of a place was soothed over by the magical hands of mother nature as we got further away from the city. Words really fail to describe the beauty of this place…

A photo-summary:

This is the domestic flights terminal: I saw a bunch of birds flying in as well as a monkey climbing in and out of the window! Very… ummmm… modest facilities 🙂

I always knew they roamed freely but had no idea they were stray!! Holy cow!!

Getting further from the city – mother nature starts showing her pretty face 🙂

My hotel
My hotel: Blue Planet Lodge. It was dark when I arrived but they promise I have a view of the Himalayas. What a sweet thought to fall asleep with…

Blessing of the day: My flight getting cancelled 😉

Namaste!
