Back in Dubai with sweet thoughts of peace, charity, selflessness and wishing all these things were contagious.
It is the holy month of Ramadan which means I have shorter working hours and can be on the beach not only during the weekend but also during the week. So I have been mostly beaching. This is my good friend and fellow beach-bum Marc from Germany reading a book that is NOT upside-down – it’s a book about design and it’s designed that way. We discuss parenthood and he quotes his friend, ‘Watching your girlfriend give birth is like watching your favorite pub burn down.’ Very interesting! These are not his own thoughts so we decide not to shoot the messenger. I then have my first ever session on the paddle board and promptly fall in love with it.
My other BFF (have many – so blessed) Swedish angel Jolie as we carry a paddle board to the shore. Beach straight after work – my kind of luxury 😉
I take a photo of the sandy beach, polish it up and it is now my background pic on this blog 🙂
Me and Jolie in post paddle-boarding bliss. Loved the experience as it put us right in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by the sea. So quiet, so peaceful! Photo taken by Marc with Jolie’s magic camera.
Water, water everywhere
There is something infinitely calming about any body of water (except a swimming pool – doesn’t count!), even the sight of it. The beach is where I calm my soul down, do my reiki and end up falling into a dreamy sleep, the type that only a squelchy, oily massage can induce. Most alternative healers recommend bathing in sea-salt to purge the negative/residual energy of the day. Big fan of alternative anything and therefore happy to plonk myself in the sea at every opportunity.
