We go pink at the Pink Walkathon 2012

We are at the annual Bur Juman Pink Walkathon for breast cancer. ‘We’ is some of my colleagues / friends as well as bestie Jeffrey. Me and the monkey are there bright and early with our takeaway coffees in hand.

The girls are hungover and late. The rest of the gang are on time, alive and ready for the walk. These are Ray, Jilloh, moi, Jeffrey, Sam, Zaid and Nikki.

This is one of the best breast cancer events in Dubai – thousands of people are there to walk the walk.

Ahmed was one of our clients. He is quite an angel and is always volunteering at events (the last one as a photographer at our corporate event). Here we bump into him and he is volunteering again. Bless him 🙂

The sexiest accessory any man can have is not a flashy watch or designer wear – it really is a little child in his arms (shoulders will also do). This tip needs to be taken seriously, especially since it is coming from a not-so-maternally-inclined girl such as my good self.

These ladies were living it up Bollywood style. I love my Dubai – it is like a pizza with different toppings on every slice.

Done!

Carnival area where we can now eat and play silly games in. Love carnivals!

Coulrophoria – fear of clowns. My bestest friend Sibel has this and I think it is a hilarious phobia to nurture. Admitting this openly will definitely be getting me into trouble now and I thank my lucky stars she is far, far away and will have missed me sufficiently to let it fly when we do eventually meet. She also is afraid of birds and this has to do with another hilarious story about her being chased around by a chicken and its angry beak when she was a little girl (too funny!!!! Ooooh, I’m *really* in trouble now!!)  My phobia is of cockroaches – a much more justified and dignified phobia to have (of course)!

Love people that can dance, love watching them. I am not quite in that group to put it mildly and both my left feet will attest to this.

Love the pun!

We talk about Jeffrey’s mommy. Cancer has taken her away way too early as it does the special people who spread sunshine wherever they go. My lovely friend / other mother / mentor Karen says we don’t always get to keep our human angels as they have to go back to where they came from so maybe this is why she isn’t here right now – heaven had missed her.  Well you can’t choose the family you are born into but you *can* choose the family you acquire along this path of life. Lucky for me and my monkey brother Jeffrey!
