I have a magic travel-box

I am about to hit the road again. I do NOT leave things to the last minute for a change and this not due to my passion for deviation from my suitably short-lived habits: this time I am going away with one of my dearest friends Feyza and she is the well-organized type.

I, on the other hand, am not an organized person at all by nature so I always have to work double-hard at it and I end up being super-organised because of this. Jekyll and Hyde, happy ever after. Strange but true…

Meet my magic travel-box.

I keep all my travel essentials in here which minimizes my running-around-in-pre-flight-panic rush.

Just like every rehabilitated disorganized-personality, I have lists.
Many of them.

This is my travel check-list and assumes that I am not only disorganized but also a total imbecile. I keep it in my travel-box:

* Passport
* E-ticket print out
* Visa
* E-gate card
* Travel insurance
* PADI log-book
* SIM cards
* National ID cards
* Cash / currency exchange (any left-over foreign currency goes back into the magic box optimistically waiting for the next time)
* Small padlocks for luggage
* International socket adaptors / currency convertors
* Camera & charger
* Phone & charger (I sometimes bring a car-charger too depending on where I will be and how long the trip will last. Stops my mom from having  heart attack when I fly for 20+ hours and she can’t reach me cause my poor phone has died)
* Laptop & charger
* iPod
* Binoculars (stops you from climbing holy structures to get a closer look and getting arrested)
* Pocket calculator (I find this easier than fishing out my phone and using that to convert currency)
* Umbrella (organization-overkill – I don’t like them or even own one!)
* Blow-up pillow & eye-covers & ear-plugs (for total sensory deprivation during the flight. Also stops eager seat-neighbors from trying to become your flight-buddy.)
* Sunglasses
* Books (I usually take around 4 from my house and end up buying around 4-6 more from the airport or wherever I am. Still resisting the Kindle.)
* Antiseptic wipes
* Disinfectant gel
* Insect repellent
* Broad-spectrum antibiotic
* Band-aid
* Sunscreen & after-sun lotion
* Moisturizer
* Shampoo & conditioner
* Toothbrush & toothpaste

If it a ‘real’ holiday you should not need make-up, more than 1 pair of Havaianas as shoes and should be able to substitute a bikini top for a bra!

Amen!

Goa – here I come 🙂
