It is in a regular cinema and everyone is doing it true Dubai style so many of the guests have driven there is their Aston Martins and there are many, many of them lined up right outside the theatre. The boys are impressed, I am unmoved. I am accompanied by Jeffrey and two of our other friends Dario (half Italian and half Irish but a London boy) and Fredrik (fully Swedish) – both very nice, clever, witty as well as a sweet treat for any girl’s eyes. Had I mentioned the ‘I’m lucky’ thing??
I regret not having my camera inside the hall – it is a perfect slice of Dubai life – glitz, glamour, young ladies, inflated lips, inflated boobs, young men, old men, inflated egos, big wallets and a bunch of normal, happy people to complete the kaleidoscope and not make me feel like a complete alien. I am *very* happy I thought better than wearing jeans.
I love the movie as I get to know my Bond boy much better than in any other Bond movie – it is so cheesy and sentimental, brilliant! Fredrik doesn’t like it as it is cheesy and sentimental. One person’s yeeehaw is another person’s ewww… he wants the old Bond back. Jeffrey, being a big softie himself, also loves it and Dario falls into deep, blissful sleep a few minutes after the movie begins…
We enjoy the sights and sounds of Shanghai in the movie and have a very good giggle as Jeffrey and Dario head to the airport straight after the film is over and head to Shanghai for a short vacation.
The highlight of tomorrow shall be boasting to everyone about how I got to see the movie before anyone else, ha!
